AgentLinkOps vs Ahrefs
An Ahrefs alternative for watching links: keep Ahrefs for research and let your agent check the links you earned over MCP, CLI or API.
Check one page against your site without an account.
The short answer
Pick Ahrefs if you need to find links across the web. Site Explorer reports 35 trillion live backlinks, and keyword research, rank tracking and site audits come on the same plan.
Pick AgentLinkOps to watch the specific links you earned or bought. Each link gets a dated check, a loss counts only after two complete checks agree, and the page your link points to gets its own checks. Prospects, contacts and outreach outcomes sit beside each link. Your agent reaches all of it over MCP, the CLI or the REST API. Ahrefs MCP starts on Lite at $129 a month. Many teams use both.
Which one to pick
AhrefsPick Ahrefs if
- You need to find who links to any site.
- You research keywords, rankings and content in the same tool.
- You want a free account for your own verified sites, with up to 1,000 backlinks visible.
- You track new and lost links for competitors as well as your own site.
AgentLinkOpsPick AgentLinkOps if
- Your agent should read changes, add links and request rechecks over MCP, the CLI or the REST API.
- You want a lost link confirmed by two complete checks at least 30 minutes apart. A page that can't be read shows Can't reach, never lost.
- You need to know when the page your link points to breaks, even while the backlink stays in place.
- You keep prospects, private contacts and outreach outcomes next to the links they won.

Where Ahrefs is stronger
- A web-wide index: Site Explorer reports 35 trillion live backlinks.
- Keyword research, rank tracking, site audits and AI prompt checks on the same subscription.
- A free tier for your verified sites, with Site Audit and the top 1,000 backlinks visible.
- New and lost backlink alerts for any website or URL, including your competitors.
Bring your Ahrefs links
- In Ahrefs Site Explorer, export the Backlinks report with one row per linking page. A referring domains export has no page URLs.
- In AgentLinkOps, open Import files, choose the website and drop the CSV. Referring page URL becomes the linking page and Target URL the page it points to. Split files over 1,000 rows.
- Choose which imported links to monitor. Checks start from there.
Questions about Ahrefs and AgentLinkOps
Can AgentLinkOps replace Ahrefs?
For research, no. AgentLinkOps has no web-wide backlink index, and its lookups return up to 1,000 rows for a domain. Use Ahrefs to find links and AgentLinkOps to watch the ones you keep, with your agent reading each check.
Can I import my backlinks from Ahrefs?
Yes. Export the Backlinks report with one row per linking page and import the CSV. AgentLinkOps reads Referring page URL, Target URL, Anchor, the first and last seen dates and the nofollow and lost flags. Then you choose which links to monitor.
Do I still need Ahrefs MCP?
Only for Ahrefs data. Ahrefs MCP starts on Lite at $129 a month and answers research questions from its index. AgentLinkOps MCP covers the links you watch: checks, losses, destinations and campaign records. One agent can connect to both.
How does AgentLinkOps decide a link is lost?
Two complete checks at least 30 minutes apart must both find the page without your link. A page that can't be read shows Can't reach until a check can read it, so a blocked or slow page never counts as a loss.
